I’ve been sketching people and scenes as long as I can remember. I started out as a child sitting in my mom’s kitchen, or at the back of a schoolroom, scribbling and drawing on every piece of paper I could find. Some of my schoolbooks served as great sketchbooks, much to my teachers’ dismay!

My parents sent me to a special school for Art and Music, where I began to understand and use the finer points of capturing expressions and nuances. I wound up in the Army during the Vietnam War and spent 3 years there. No surface was safe from my pen and pencil. I wasn’t as prolific as Kilroy, but there are some places where someone might say, “Kenny was here!”

After the Army, I went to the Newark School of Fine Arts and graduated with a Degree in Fine Arts. After a time I surrendered the illusion of making a living with Art and spent the next 40 years designing, building, and maintaining Swimming Pools.

There was one wonderful serendipity at the Art School. I met my beautiful wife Maureen in Art School and fell in love at first sight. We had 23 beautiful years together. After losing her to a brain tumor, I packed up my home in New Jersey and headed for the desert. I sold my business and bought a house in Scottsdale, Arizona.

As a tribute to Maureen and to scratch that creative itch I’d had all my life, I started working on my painting again. I painted landscapes, portraits, Arizona scenery, people, pets, horses, cacti… all of it. I discovered Scottsdale Artist’s School and rekindled my enthusiasm for painting. There I worked to perfect art in most of the mediums: pastels, oil, ballpoint pen… anything that makes a mark.

Contact me and let’s talk how I can be of service to you. When we talk I can give you an idea of the price range. It all depends upon the medium.

I look forward to meeting you!
